June 18 – July 01, 2020

Day-by-day Itinerary:

Day 1 – Depart USA
Board your independent flight to Kenya.

Day 2 – Nairobi, Kenya
Arrive in Nairobi and transfer to Ole Sereni for a welcome dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Nairobi / Nanyuki / Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for our flight to Nanyuki. Take a short drive to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy and check in to the Ol Pejeta Bush Camp. After lunch and a chance to settle in to your traditional East African safari tent, embark on an afternoon game watching excursion. Enjoy a drink by the fire before dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Ol Pejeta is a model for modern managed conservation areas, and you will find abundant wildlife during morning and evening game drives. The area is home to the largest population of black rhinos in East Africa and provides refuge for the world’s last remaining northern white rhinos. Along with the usual plains species, all the major predators can be found here—African wild dogs, lions, cheetahs, and leopards. You will also have the opportunity to visit a large outdoor sanctuary that provides a safe haven for rescued and orphaned chimpanzees.

Day 5 – Ol Pejeta Conservancy / Mara Naboisho Conservancy (Maasai Mara)
After one last game drive, transfer to the airport for our flight to the legendary Maasai Mara. Check in to the award-winning Encounter Mara, set in the sought-after Mara Naboisho Conservancy. Enjoy some of the best game viewing in Africa from the low-key yet lavish comfort of this superb eco-camp. Shaded by a thick acacia forest, Encounter Mara enjoys glorious views of the surrounding savanna, while closer at hand, a salt lick attracts a range of animals throughout the day, from plains game to big cats. Enjoy an evening game drive, with dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 6-7 – Mara Naboisho Conservancy
The Mara Naboisho Conservancy is a 50,000-acre initiative located right next door to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. With only a handful of lodges in the area, you are ensured a level of safari solitude simply unheard of in the busy Serengeti and Maasai Mara reserves. The Conservancy is home to an impressive number of big cats, and herds of elephant, giraffe, and wildebeest. Rare species such as aardvark, caracal, serval cat, aardwolf, and honey badger can also be found here. Bird watching is fantastic with several bird species rarely seen elsewhere in the Mara such as white-headed buffalo-weavers, northern white-crowned shrikes, pygmy falcons, Von Der Deckens hornbills, and bush pipits.

Day 8 – Mara Naboisho Conservancy / Grumeti, Tanzania / Serengeti National Park
After breakfast and a morning game drive, transfer to the airport for our flight to Tanzania. Transfer to the Ubuntu Migration Camp, a mobile camp that follows in the tracks of the massive wildebeest herds as they cross the vast plains of the Serengeti in an ancient migration cycle. The camp itself is intimate and personal, and the seven spacious tented suites epitomize the charm of traditional East African safaris.

Day 9 – Serengeti National Park
Shadowing the wildebeests’ every move, Ubuntu Camp uncovers fascinating and unexplored corners of this great wilderness, ensuring that first-class game viewing is never far away. With their unwavering focus on keeping pace with the migration, Ubuntu’s guides will bring this remarkable natural phenomenon to life. During June, the camp is set up near the Grumeti River to take advantage of fantastic, and often dramatic, river crossings.

Day 10 – Serengeti National Park / Grumeti / Namiri Plains
This morning, return to the airport in Grumeti for our flight to Namiri Plains. Check in to Namiri Plains Camp, a small and exclusive haven of eight, elegant tented suites with sweeping 360-degree views of the plains.

Day 11-12 – Namiri Plains
For 20 years, the grasslands here were closed to tourists to help increase the cheetah population. Today, this is prime big-cat territory, where you will not only find cheetahs, but lions and leopards as well. With the Ngare Nanyuki underground river creating pockets of permanent water, the area also supports high concentrations of resident plains game. During June, expect lots of action as the big cats prey on the migrating wildebeest herds.

Day 13-14 – Namiri Plains / Kilimanjaro / USA
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Kilimanjaro and connect with homeward flights. Arrive in the USA the next day.
