Day-by-day Itinerary:

Day 01 – Depart USA
Board your independent overnight flight to Johannesburg.

Day 02 – Johannesburg, South Africa
Arrive in Johannesburg and transfer to the InterContinental Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Airport for dinner and overnight.

Day 03 –  Johannesburg / Maun, Botswana / Nxai Pan National Park
After breakfast at the hotel, board your flight to Maun, and connect with our flight to Nxai Pan National Park. Check in to Nxai Pan, your home for three nights. Located on the western edge of a fossil pan, the camp faces east over the open grasslands of the pans. Excellent game viewing is possible from the comfort of your room, as the water hole in front of the camp draws a multitude of mammal species.

Day 04-05 – Nxai Pan National Park
Explore the park during morning and afternoon game drives and search the mopane woodland for lions, giraffes, kudus, impalas, springboks, jackals, bat-eared foxes, and a wealth of birdlife such as ostriches, korhaans, goshawks, and dazzling bee-eaters. Visit Baines’ Baobabs, a stand of huge, centuries-old trees and enjoy the opportunity to go on a nature walk with Bushman trackers.

Day 06 – Sunday, April 28, 2019 – Nxai National Park / Kwara Concession
After a morning safari and breakfast, board our charter flight to Kwara Concession, a private safari area set on the edge of the Okavango Delta. Transfer to Kwara Camp, nestled beneath towering African ebony and mangosteen trees on the shores of a scenic lagoon. Embark on an afternoon game viewing safari before dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 07 – 08 – Kwara Concession
The Kwara region offers a broad range of ecosystems to explore—deep-water channels, papyrus swamps, seasonal floodplains, open grasslands, hardwood forests, and mopane woodland. This variety supports a wide array of species, and the area is notable for consistent sightings of predators, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and wild dogs. In addition to game drives, explore during night safaris, guided walks, and mokoro (dugout canoe) cruises.

Day 09 – Kwara Concession / Kwando Reserve
Enjoy one last game-viewing activity and breakfast before boarding your charter flight to the privately-owned Kwando Reserve. Lagoon Camp offers traditional tents on raised platforms overlooking the Kwando River, near the Namibian border. After settling in, there is time for an evening safari before dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 10 – 11 – Kwando Reserve
With access to the permanent waterways of the Okavango, as well as expansive areas of dry land, you will have the opportunity to explore by mokoro and 4×4 vehicles to search for a variety of wildlife. Birdlife is especially rich here, with frequent sightings of harrier hawks, bateleur eagles, African fish eagles, red-crested korhaans, secretary birds, southern yellow-billed hornbills, marabou storks, striped kingfishers, Dickinson’s kestrels, and lilac-breasted rollers. The area is also known for great sightings of wild dog, leopard, cheetah, and lion. Herds of elephants frequent the area, as well as giraffe, zebra, sitatunga, lechwe, impala and hippos.

Day 12 – Kwando Reserve / Maun / Johannesburg, South Africa / USA
Board our charter flight for Maun this morning and connect with homeward flights via Johannesburg. Arrive in the USA on Sunday.
