Day-by-day Itinerary:
Day 1 – 24 May – Cape Town
Arrive in cape town and get ready to explore the city with its trendy and modern old-world style elegance. A short boat cruise away is Robben Island, where you can see the cell Nelson Mandela spent 18 years. Check in to the Victoria and Alfred Hotel.
Day 2 – 25 May – Cape Town
Enjoy a half day city tour of Cape Town that includes Kirstenbosch and Constantia. Take a ride on the Table Mountain aerial cable car.
Day 3 – 26 May – Cape Town
Enjoy a full a full day tour of the Cape Point Tour. The southernmost point of the Table Mountain National Park. See 200-meter towering cliffs lining the Atlantic ocean. The natural vegetation comprises the smallest but richest of the worlds six floral kingdoms.
Day 4 –27 May – Cape Town
Robben Island tour begins at the Clock Tower, also known as the Nelson Mandela Gateway in the V&A Waterfront. The Island was a training and defense station in World War 2 and has also served as a place of banishment, isolation and imprisonment, which became world famous as the prison where Nelson Mandela was held for 18 years. As your ferry arrives at the Island you will be met by a local guide who spent time here during the Apartheid years and will thus be able to give a personal and often moving account of the experience. You will also see the cell where Nelson Mandela spent a large part of his life before taking the ferry back to the Waterfront.
Day 5 – 28 May – Greater Kruger National Park
Journey to the Greater Kruger National Park. With over 2 million hectares of pristine wilderness, the Kruger & biodiversity sustains numerous species of game and birds. This is the real Africa, cut away from the hectic pace of life, home to Africa’s Big 5. Check into Simbavati River Lodge.
Day 6 & 7 – 29 & 30 May – Greater Kruger National Park
Time to go on safari in Timbavati. The Timbavati shares an unfenced border with the Kruger National Park and covers approximately 53,392 hectares. It is home to large herds of buffalo and elephant and is famous for the extremely rare white lions. A typical day on safari starts off with an early morning open vehicle game drive, at a time when the animals are most active. Sunsets then spotlights come out in search of a new range of creatures. For those needing to expend some energy, a guided walking safari is an ideal way to learn about smaller animals and plants.
Day 8 – 31 May – Greater Kruger National Park
Travel to the Nottens Bush Camp and check in. One of the original game lodges in South Africa. Safaris are led by experienced rangers in open-top land cruisers for big game viewing.

Go on Safari in the Southern Sabi Sands. It has a diverse habitat with the Sand and Sabi Rivers running through it, a huge range of wildlife and a reputation for big cat sightings. Head out for an early morning game drive in open vehicles, stopping for a refreshing coffee break and a chance to listen to the sounds of the bush whilst admiring the landscape. After some down-time and a siesta back at camp, set off again in the late afternoon when the bush comes alive.
