LUXURY SOUTH AFRICA &
PRIVATE NAMBIA FLY SAFARI
June / July / August 2025
Day-by-day Itinerary:
Day 1 | Arrive in Cape Town
Welcome to South Africa! On arrival in Cape Town, you will be met at the door of your aircraft with your name on a paging board. Should your aircraft be directed to the apron and not the terminal building, you will be transported to the terminal by bus where your Meet and Greet will be waiting for you as you step off the bus. You will then be assisted through immigration, baggage collection and customs and on to your next service.
Check in to the Victoria & Alfred Hotel on B&B basis, for 4 nights.
Cape Town
Scenically beautiful, Cape Town is a compelling mix of trendy modern and old-world elegance. Glamorous hotels, world-class dining and stunning vistas merge seamlessly with dynamic student suburbs and vibrant nightlife. Malay and African heritage is evident in the cuisine, traditions and entertainment while the architecture reveals a strong Dutch, German and English flavour and style. Contemporary art is proudly displayed in a variety of galleries and modern boutique hotels, and wine bars and brandy tasting lounges will appeal to the fashionable set. For the well-heeled the finest in opera, ballet, drama and music can be appreciated in style.A short boat cruise to Robben Island, just over seven km’s from Cape Town harbour, you can experience a sense of hopelessness inside the prison cell where South Africa’s most beloved legend, Nelson Mandela spent 27 years hard labour. It is difficult to imagine how anyone could rise above the horror of incarceration to become arguably the most iconic and compassionate leader of our era. An exciting trip up Table Mountain in a cable car provides panoramic views over the “Mother City” and other attractions include the Cultural History Museum, the Castle of Good Hope and the world-renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Greenmarket Square’s local crafts markets and the Bo-Kaap’s colorful Cape Malay buildings add a sense of authenticity to your trip, and Long Street’s vibrant restaurants, bars and clubs come alive after dark. Perhaps wander around the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, a working harbour and hub of entertainment and shopping opportunities.
Day 2 | Cape Town City Tour
Our day begins with a tour of Table Mountain to soak up panoramic vistas of the mother city and the surrounding oceans (weather permitting). If weather not good, your guide will take you by vehicle in Signal Hill for similar views.
We wander through the Cape Town, Company’s Garden and visit the South African Museum, before venturing on to the Castle of Good Hope. Built by the Dutch East India Company, between 1666 and 1679, as a maritime replenishment station, the Castle is the oldest surviving colonial building in the country.
During our trip through the city, we pass the Houses of Parliament, the Grand Parade and City Hall – where Nelson Mandela first addressed South Africans after his release.
Drop off at the vibrant V&A Waterfront for some time out to explore the restaurants, pubs and shops at your own leisure this afternoon (or return to your hotel).
Day 3 | Cape Point & Peninsula Tour, Boulder Beach Penguins
A full day of stunning scenery awaits, as we embark on an exploration of the Cape Peninsula. We see the trendy beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, before crossing over to the quaint fishing village of Hout Bay.
Continuing along Chapman’s Peak, one of the world’s most breath-taking coastal drives, we make our way to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Board the funicular for a trip to the top of the Peninsula for incredible panoramic outlooks over the perceived meeting point of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans.
Next up, the naval base of Simon’s Town is a richly historic destination of museums, and home to Boulders Beach, renowned for its African Penguin breeding colony. We take some time to wander along the boardwalks, marveling at the antics of these amusing creatures.

Boulder Beach South African Penguins
The Boulders section of Table Mountain National Park is a unique and popular international tourist destination, featuring three pristine beaches, a penguin viewing area, and three boardwalks designed to protect the African Penguins. These penguins were reclassified as endangered in 2010, with their breeding pairs plummeting from about 150,000 in 1956 to just 26,000 by 2009—an over 80% decline in 50 years. Established in 1983, the Boulders Penguin Colony saw numbers rise to 3,900 by 2005, but has since decreased, with approximately 2,100 birds recorded in 2011. Visitors are encouraged to stay on the boardwalks to ensure the safety of these remarkable birds.
Day 4 | Cape Winelands Tour
Spend the day on a winelands tour and return to Victoria & Alfred for your final night.
Winelands Tour
A fabulous day of exploring and tastings while taking in the superb mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads along the Cape’s famed wine routes. The vibrant heart of the winelands, Stellenbosch, is lovely to explore as you walk down the canal-lined avenues, in the shade of giant oak trees and beautifully preserved historic buildings. Venture over the Helshoogte Pass to the town of Franschhoek, a celebrated wine and food destination of South Africa. This charming town, in a most picturesque valley is where you will enjoy a wine tasting before taking time to enjoy the fabled culinary skills of the Franschhoek chefs at one of the many award-winning restaurants (lunch for own account). Onward to Paarl, a farming town set at the foot of the cluster of remarkable granite domes from which it takes its name and an area that produces some amazing wines.
Day 5 | Greater Kruger National Park
Fly from Cape Town to Skukuza Airport. Check in to Nottens Bush Camp for 3 nights on fully inclusive basis.
Greater Kruger National Park
As you bump along the park roads, the sun warm upon your face and air dry in the back of your throat, your senses are on high alert. This is the real Africa, cut away from the hectic pace of life, home to Africa’s Big 5. The Kruger is alive, from the nervously twitching herd of impala after a night of predator action, to the wild dog cavorting like domestic pets alongside the road. Marvel as a herd of elephant simply appear from out the bush, then silently vanish back into the landscape. With over 2 million hectares of pristine wilderness, the Kruger’s biodiversity sustains numerous species of game and birds.
The dry north consists of Baobab trees, scrubland and rocky outcroppings which can be seen for miles and animals tend to gather around water sources. As you come south, the park gets busier, animal numbers increase and the backdrop changes to grassland and acacia woodlands. On the western borders, private reserves such as Sabi Sands and the Timbavati open onto the Kruger, offering an exclusive game experience with the flexibility of night drives and off-road 4 x 4 safaris.
Swaying to the movement of an open vehicle while wrapped warmly against the night chills, is an unforgettable experience. The call of a Nightjar darting overhead and the flash of eyes reflected from the bushes brings an entirely different twist to your safari and as you drop your head back and look up – the crisp night skies go on forever.
Day 6 & 7 | On Safari
Spend the next two day on safari in the Sabi Sands, with morning and sunset game drive. Spend your evenings enjoy the camp and getting to know the other guests.
Southern Sabi Sands
The Sabi Sands is a private 65,000-hectare reserve known as one of the few places that you can see the Big 5 in one day. It has a diverse habitat with the Sand and Sabi Rivers running through it, a huge range of wildlife and a reputation for big cat sightings. Head out for an early morning game drive in open vehicles, stopping for a refreshing coffee break and a chance to listen to the sounds of the bush whilst admiring the landscape.
After some down-time and a siesta back at camp, set off again in the late afternoon when the bush comes alive. Sundowners as night falls, then spotlights come out in search of a new range of creatures. For those needing to expend some energy, a guided walking safari is an ideal way to learn about smaller animals and plants.
Day 8 | Fly to Johannesburg
Fly on scheduled air from Skukuza Airport to Johannesburg and walk to your Airport Hotel. Check in for one night on B&B basis.
Johannesburg
South Africa’s economic hub, the New York of Africa, bursts at the seams with a wealth of art, history and culture. Johannesburg is a fusion of chic sophistication and rustic, inner-city vibe born of Africa’s finest creative minds. Modern African art meets designer trend and the results are striking. From the inner city walking tours’ street art and graffiti, to the re-invented university suburbs, the rejuvenation exposes a vibrant urban life. Braamfontein’s Constitution Hill, art galleries and restaurants are an example of this regeneration. It is here the continent can express itself and the results are funky, a little off beat and totally captivating. Upmarket Sandton, Rosebank and Melrose are shopping meccas, with restaurants, and activities easily located beside leafy suburbs. Soweto, once home to South Africa’s most well-loved legend, is an essential part of any visit to Johannesburg. Nelson Mandela’s house, the Hector Pieterson Museum and Regina Mundi Cathedral are part of the historical appeal of any Soweto visit, and the importance of South Africa’s turbulent past and hard won democracy is evident.

Full day in the Sossusvlei area enjoy outings.
NamibRand Nature Reserve
At more than 200,000 hectares in size, the NamibRand Nature Reserve is one of the largest private reserves in southern Africa. It was established in the 1980s when Albi Bruckner integrated several livestock farms into a protected wilderness area and today it’s a model of conservation success. There are strict rules about the number of lodges built in the area (and even stricter rules about the number of rooms each one may have), making it a totally private and entirely exclusive adventure.
Photographs may show the craggy, mauve mountains of the NamibRand, the infamous red dunes and the enormous swathes of desert, but nothing prepares for you the moment you see it for yourself. The space is humbling, the sense of peace is spiritual and it’s one of the most striking, stirring places out there.
The fairy circles that dot the ground are particularly intriguing. Over the years, the theories behind them have been hotly debated (they are a result of poisonous fungi, termites, or even meteor showers),however no one really knows for certain why they are here. Just another reason to visit this extraordinary place.

Check in to Camp Kala for a 3 night fully inclusive stay
Day 14 & 15 | On Safari
Spend the next couple of days enjoying the park and on safari drives.
Etosha National Park
Etosha owes its unique landscape to the Etosha Pan, a vast shallow depression of approximately 5 000
square km. A series of waterholes along the Southern edge of the pan guarantee the rewarding spectacular game viewing. In good rain years the pan fills with water draining southwards from Angola via the delta like system of shallow rivers and oshanas, drying out in the winter to become an austere expanse of white cracked mud, shimmering with mirages and upward spiraling dust devils.
Of the mammal species found in the park, several are rare and endangered, such as black rhino and black-faced impala. Etosha’s elephants are reputed to be the largest in Africa, the tallest ones measuring up to 4m at the shoulder. Their tusks, on the other hand, are relatively small. For the greater part of the year the Etosha Pan is a bleak expanse of white cracked mud which shimmers with mirages on most days. Seeing vast herds of game against this eerie backdrop makes the Etosha game-viewing experience unique.
Day 16 | Depart Home
Enjoy most of the day with a morning outing, brunch, check out and then transfer to the Mokuti Airstrip for the afternoon flight to Windhoek. Connect with evening flight to Johannesburg.
Clear Customs and Immigration and Check in for an evening flight (after 7pm) from Johannesburg home.
