Next, your journey takes you to the heart of Tanzania, where the Serengeti unfolds before you. At Nyikani Migration Camp, be surrounded by endless plains teeming with life. Finally, you’ll retreat to the island paradise of Zanzibar, where the Sea Cliff Resort & Spa offers a serene escape. Walk through the mysterious Jozani Forest, marvel at the rich history of Stone Town, and unwind by the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. For those extending the journey, Giraffe Manor in Nairobi offers an enchanting finale, where giraffes wander up to greet you during breakfast—a once-in-a-lifetime connection with Africa’s gentle giants before you head home.

Day-by-day Itinerary:

Day 1 | Arrive in Nairobi, Kenya

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International (Nairobi, Kenya) Airport,  you will be met and assisted after immigration and customs formalities by a local tour representative, followed by a short safari briefing and then a road transfer to Ololo Safari Lodge, which is nestled at the Mbagathi River bordering the famous Nairobi National Park.

Nairobi National Park

Bordering the capital city of Nairobi, in beautiful Kenya, the Nairobi National Park is one of Africa’s smallest parks and one of the only parks on earth to be in such close proximity to a city centre. It boasts a large and varied wildlife population, amid wide open grass plains against a backdrop of city scrapers. The park is home to one of Kenya’s most successful rhinoceros sanctuaries with the world’s highest concentration of black rhinoceros. Its wetland areas are abundant with birdlife boasting over 400 bird species. Visitors can enjoy the many facilities the park has to offer such as scenic picnic sites, well-positioned campsites, and hiking trails. Commonly spotted species include lion, hyena, warthog, zebra, giraffe, ostrich, gazelle, buffalo, and sometimes if you’re lucky, leopard and cheetah.

Day 2 | Ololo Safari Lodge Day at Leisure

Day at leisure or enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing drives, guided farm tours, guided walks to Anselm & Kitengela Hot Glass. You may wish to  tour Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, where baby elephants and occasionally rhinos can be seen at feeding time (1100 – 1200 hrs).

OPTIONAL: The Elephant Orphanage excursion is at added cost and is subject to availability at the time of booking – can only be booked at least 3 months to travel, we keep on monitoring to ensure we get a slot but cannot be guaranteed until booked and confirmed.

Cultural excursions can also be arranged directly with the Lodge to Karen area and surrounding area at an extra cost for the vehicle.

The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust 

Founded in 1977 by Dr Dame Daphne Sheldrick D.B.E, in honour of the memory of her late husband, famous naturalist and founding Warden of Tsavo East National Park, David Leslie William Sheldrick MBE, the DSWT claims a rich and deeply rooted family history in wildlife and conservation. Born from one family’s passion for Kenya and it’s wilderness, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust is today the most successful orphan-elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world and one of the pioneering conservation organisations for wildlife and habitat protection in East Africa. To date the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust has successfully hand-raised over 244 infant elephants and has accomplished its long-term conservation priority by effectively reintegrating orphans back into the wild herds of Tsavo, claiming many healthy wild-born calves from former-orphaned elephants raised in care.

Day 3 | Fly to Maji Moto Culture Camp

After breakfast transfer to Wilson Airport, Nairobi in a Ololo vehicle. Board scheduled flight Wilson Airport to the Mara Airstrip. Upon arrival at Ol Kiombo Airstrip you will be met by Maji Moto Cultural Masaai Cultural Camp vehicle and transfer to the camp for your stay for the next 2 nights. Activities to be arranged at the camp.

Loita Hills 

The Loita Hills area in Kenya’s Southern Rift Valley is one of the nation’s last frontiers of pristine, untouched wilderness. Rising to over 2000 metres, the hills cover an area of some 200 square kilometres and form an important part of the Maasai Mara Ecosystem. Patches of remote forest are flanked by wide open plains, and the hillsides are dotted with an abundant variety of wildlife. Visitors can hike with local Maasai guides and explore the magnificent forest, filled with cedar, Opodo, strangler figs, and see an impressive variety of birdlife. Buffalo, elephant, baboon, bushbuck, hyena, leopard, and over 2000 colobus monkeys have made their home here too. Gorgeous waterfalls add to the experience. The area is inaccessible to vehicles, making the landscapes here relatively untouched.

Day 4  |Maji Moto Culture Camp Day at Leisure

This will be another day at camp full of activities - We are happy to work with  you  to customize programs for trekking, bicycling, motorbiking and more through the Loita Hills and Plains.

Day 5 | Through the Eyes of the Maasai

Overnight will be at under the open skies, Olpul Bush Camp “Through the Eyes of the Maasai”.

Walk approximately 1.5 hour across the Loita plains to a bush camp for an experience In a traditional Maasai temporary camp still used by locals today, you’ll sleep under the stars, slaughtering a goat in traditional “Olpul” style with warriors and elders. Maasai beds made of soft branches with sleeping bags, along with tents if preferred. Tented box seat toilet facilities.

Day 6 | Transfer to Governors Camp

After breakfast you will be transferred to the next camp by road, approx. an Hour & Half driving time. to Main Governors Camp. After lunch, relax and absorb the surroundings before setting off on an afternoon game drive in the reserve till sunset. Return to camp at dusk for hot showers, before settling down for dinner.

Masai Mara National Reserve

One of Kenya’s undisputed natural highlights is the Masai Mara National Reserve, which sprawls across more than 1500 square kilometres of the country’s southwest. The park protects a phenomenal array of game, including elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo, as well as crocodile and hippopotamus in the Mara River. The birdlife is no less impressive, with over 450 resident bird species. However, the true highlight here is the Great Migration, recognised as one of the Seven New Wonders of the World. To survive the dry months of July to September, some 1.7 million wildebeest, migrate from the parched plains of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. Along with much smaller numbers of antelope, buffalo and zebra, they move to the more forgiving grasslands of the Masai Mara. In their wake come predators such as lion, hyena and cheetah, for whom these giant herds are an easy source of prey.

Day 7 | On Safari

The Maasai Mara is home to one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in the world and today you’ll begin to discover it. The region is deservedly famous for its big cats but is also a fantastic place to experience other wildlife including elephants, giraffe, zebra, antelope, impala, hyenas, and warthogs. Visit during the dry season between June and October and you’ll witness The Great Migration, when over two million wildebeest thunders across the plains in search of lush grasslands.

Day 8 | Visit Maasai Village & Game Drive

Visits to the nearby Maasai village will give you the chance to learn more about their culture and ways of life . The rest of the day is spent on further game drives into the heart of this wildlife-rich reserve with your expert driver guide.

OPTIONAL: For an additional cost, during your stay there’s the opportunity to take a thrilling Hot-Air Balloon Safari to gain a whole new perspective of the Maasai Mara.

Day 9 | Fly to the Serengeti

Early breakfast and transfer to the Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Migori Airstrip, Kenya, and you will be transferred by road to Tarime, where you will clear with customs and immigration before boarding your scheduled flight to Kogatende Airstrip, Tanzania.

On arrival into the Serengeti, Tanzania you will be met by your Camp’s safari vehicle and driver guide and transferred to the Camp with game viewing enroute. Check-in followed by lunch. Enjoy scheduled afternoon game drive. later return to the camp for leisure, dinner and overnight.

Northern Serengeti

Located between the Central Serengeti and Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve to the north, the Northern Serengeti is a remote African wildlife wonderland. The vast, rolling savannah of the Northern Serengeti, is known as the hub of the great migration. The landscape is characterised by vast stretches of savannah interspersed with acacia trees and riverine woodlands. Wildlife can be seen along the banks of the Mara River and visitors can view the annual spectacle of the half a million migrating wildebeest. Commonly spotted wildlife include: a multitude of plains game such as buffalo, zebra, gazelles, impala, giraffe as well as lion and leopard. Visitors can look forward to bird watching, hot air ballooning, game safaris and guided bush walks.

Day 10 | On Safari

This morning wake to the sounds of the African bush, and head out on an early morning game drive to catch the animals at their most active. On return to your camp, enjoy a typical safari breakfast surrounded by local wildlife. Later, on your afternoon game drive, the chances to spot Africa’s famous Big Five abound, thanks to the park’s density of both predators and prey.

Day 11 | On Safari

Enjoy a full day, with morning and evening games drives in Serengeti National Park, Tanzania. Enjoy quiet evenings by the camp fire and the exclusivity of absolute comfort combined with the authenticity of a night spent in the African bush, an extraordinary experience for all nature lovers.

Day 12 | Fly to Manyara, Tanzania

After breakfast you will be transferred to Kogatende airstrip, Tanzania where you will board your scheduled flight to Manyara, Tanzania. On landing into Manyara, late morning, you will be met by a driver guide and transferred to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You will reach  Ngorongoro Serena Lodge in time for a late lunch. Spend the afternoon relaxing and enjoying the breath-taking views offered to you by staying in this property.

Lake Magadi

Not to be confused with the Kenyan lake of the same name set only a hundred kilomtres away, the Tanzanian Lake Magadi is an exquisite soda lake in the Ngorongoro crater, named the Swahili word for salt. This is a wonderful destination for nature photographers, a scene that changes exquisitely through the seasons, moving through lush greens into striking oranges and bright pinks. Along with the changes come captivating, changing groups of animals including rhino, eland and lion, as well as golden jackals who come to hunt the flamingos. Spread over 11.2 square kilometres, the lake cultivates a unique ecosystem with its blue-green algae, which nourishes the plants and small creatures here. The surrounding crater is filled with incredible other natural attractions and a much wider variety of wildlife.

Day 13 | Explore Ngorongoro Crater

Today you will be taken on a crater tour with  picnic lunch boxes. Ngorongoro Crater is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest un flooded and unbroken caldera in the world, measuring about 20kms across, 600 meters deep and 300 sq. kms in area. The crater is famous for its concentration of animals and one of the best places in Tanzania to see the rhino. Return to your lodge before dusk, and in time to freshen up before dinner.

Day 14 | Fly to Zanzibar

After breakfast you will be transferred to the Airstrip for your scheduled flight from Serengeti via Arusha to Zanzibar. Approx. 5 hours traveling from Serengeti to Island of Zanzibar. Upon arrival you are met by a tour Representative and transferred to Sea Cliff  Resort & Spa, where you will spend the next 3 days.

Mangapwani

Situated on the northwestern coast of the beautiful Tanzanian island of Zanzibar, Mangapwani, meaning Arabian Shore, has a deep history of the black market slave trade. History enthusiasts can visit the Mangapwani Slave Chamber, or Slave Cave, a structure built to keep slaves until they were sold. Visitors can also look forward to exploring the Mangapwani Coral Cave, a deep natural cavern said to be a secret hiding place for the illegal slave trade after it was abolished; and stroll along the small but pristine beach along the coast and enjoy a drink under the trees at the beach bar.

Day 15 | Jozani Forest & Stone Town

Today your day begins after breakfast with a tour to Jozani Forest. This is the only nature reserve in Zanzibar where there are beautiful mahogany trees, a very impressive tropical forest, where the colossus is grown only here in Zanzibar. You will also be able to see many types of crabs living in this unique ecosystem. This forest is one of the last remaining sanctuaries in the world of the red colubus monkey.

From here you will proceed to Stone Town where you’ll tour the House of Wonders, Palace Museums, Mosques, and Arab’s Fort. Get a feel for this incredible city, with its vibrant culture and exotic smells and sounds. After the tour proceed for lunch before returning to your hotel.

Jozani Forest Tour

This half day guided tour will take you to Jozani Forest, one of the last remaining sanctuaries in the world of the red colubus monkey.  The trails of the forest enable you to get close to these beautiful creatures and to experience the diversity of the forest with the knowledgeable assistance of your guide.

Stone Town City Tour (Gallery Tours)

Stone Town City Tour (Gallery Tours) offers visitors a tour following the trail of the sultans, slaves and explorers in the winding streets of Stone Town in Tanzania. Visitors will learn about events which shaped Zanzibar via a knowledgeable guide while walking through the buildings where it all happened. These historic buildings include the former Slave Market, the Anglican Cathedral, the House of Wonders, the Sultans’ Palace Museum, and the Old Arab Fort and Dispensary. Visitors have the opportunity to explore the markets, and the residential areas. An optional stop is available to rest from the heat at The Zanzibar Coffee House, where visitors can enjoy a selection of drinks, local sweets and seasonal fruits. The tour is flexible and can be adapted according to visitors’ interests and time frame. Visitors can also shop for antiques and souvenirs.

Day 16 | Day at Leisure

Day at leisure and/or engage in Sea Cliff hotel activities.

Day 17 | Day at Leisure & Depart Home

Full day use of room at Sea Cliff Resort & Spa on Zanzibar, until your departure.
