Day-by-day Itinerary:

Day 1 | Cape Town, South Africa

On arrival in South Africa you will be met by a private driver and transfer to The Commodore Hotel. Spend your evening exploring the Victoria & Albert WaterFront.

Cape Town

Cape Town seamlessly blends natural beauty with a vibrant mix of modernity and old-world charm. Trendy hotels, world-class dining, and dynamic nightlife coexist with historic architecture reflecting Dutch, German, and English influences. The city’s Malay and African heritage shines through its cuisine and culture, while contemporary art graces galleries and boutique hotels. Visitors can enjoy wine bars, opera, ballet, and music for an upscale experience.

Key attractions include the iconic Table Mountain, Robben Island—where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned—the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, and the historic Bo-Kaap district. Explore Greenmarket Square’s craft markets, the lively Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, and Long Street’s bustling nightlife for a truly authentic Cape Town experience.

Day 2 | Cape Town

This morning after breakfast at the hotel get ready for a full day tour of Table Mountain with a Cable Car ride (weather permitting). Next move on to the Kirstenbosch Gardens for lunch. Return back to the Waterfront and enjoy a duck tour in the Victoria & Alfred Harbor.

Table Mountain Aerial Cableway

The Table Mountain Aerial Cableway opened its doors to its first visitors on 4 October 1929. Since then, it has had many upgrades, bringing it to the point where it can safely welcome an average of 800 000 visitors each year. The round cable cars take about 5 – 10 minutes to carry 65 passengers from Tafelberg Road to the top of Table Mountain and they gently rotate, offering 360 degree views

Day 3 | Cape Town

Begin your day at the hotel before departing on a full-day private tour departing from your hotel. Journey from Hout Bay and along Chapman’s Peak to Cape Point. Stop for lunch in Simon’s Town, then visit the Boulder Penguins before returning to your hotel for the evening.

Cape Point & Peninsula Tour

A full day of stunning scenery awaits, as we embark on an exploration of the Cape Peninsula. We see the trendy beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, before crossing over to the quaint fishing village of Hout Bay. Continuing along Chapman’s Peak, one of the world’s most breath-taking coastal drives, we make our way to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Board the funicular (optional and for own account) for a trip to the top of the Peninsula for incredible panoramic outlooks over the perceived meeting point of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. Next up, the naval base of Simon’s Town is a richly historic destination of museums, and home to Boulders Beach, renowned for its African Penguin breeding colony. We take some time to wander along the boardwalks, marveling at the antics of these amusing creatures. Entrance fees included to Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, Boulders Beach Penguin Colony and Chapmans Peak Drive.

Boulder Beach South African Penguins

The Boulders section of Table Mountain National Park is a unique and popular international tourist destination, featuring three pristine beaches, a penguin viewing area, and three boardwalks designed to protect the African Penguins. These penguins were reclassified as endangered in 2010, with their breeding pairs plummeting from about 150,000 in 1956 to just 26,000 by 2009—an over 80% decline in 50 years. Established in 1983, the Boulders Penguin Colony saw numbers rise to 3,900 by 2005, but has since decreased, with approximately 2,100 birds recorded in 2011. Visitors are encouraged to stay on the boardwalks to ensure the safety of these remarkable birds.

Day 4  | Cape Winelands

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel before meeting your private transfer to South Africa’s scenic Winelands. Along the way, visit two wineries in the Stellenbosch region to sample their offerings before enjoying lunch. Afterward, check in at the Franschhoek Boutique Hotel.

Stroll its oak-lined streets, visit art galleries, and experience its vibrant atmosphere as a buzzing university town.

Franschhoek, with its French Huguenot heritage, is renowned as South Africa’s culinary capital, home to top chefs and exceptional dining experiences. The town is nestled in a valley framed by majestic mountains, offering breathtaking scenery and award-winning wines. Nearby Paarl, peacefully situated beneath the Helderberg Mountains, boasts tranquil vineyards and renowned wine estates.

Day 5 | Cape Winelands

After a relaxing morning meet your private guide for aanother full day exploring the winelands, this time with a focus on the Franschhoek Wineries. Return back to the hotel for a peaceful evening.

This morning depart the Franschhoek hotel and began your journey to the Caape West Coast. Along the way you will stop at a Paarl Winery to compare thier offerings. Later you will stop at Malmesbury for lunch, with your final stop in Langebaan to check into The Farmhouse.

The Cape West Coast

The Cape’s West Coast offers stunning seascapes, unspoiled beaches, rural fishing villages, and vibrant wildflowers. Craggy mountains guard tidal pools, while remote Cape Dutch homes dot the landscape. Paternoster, meaning “Our Father,” reflects the prayers of Portuguese sailors whose ships once met the coastline’s treacherous rocks.

Explore Dutch heritage at the Columbine Lighthouse for panoramic views of Britannia Reef and the Atlantic. The West Coast National Park boasts diverse wildlife, including antelope, ostriches, caracal, and rare birds like Cape gannets and African penguins. Seasonal whale and dolphin sightings add to the allure. Active travelers can hike, bike, or ride horses through this breathtaking region.

Day 7 | Cape West Coast

Today explore the Cape West Coast National Park. Here you will see Langebaan Lagoon the focal point of the park.  Eat lunch at Geelbek. After spending your day in the park return to The Farmhouse for a relaxing evening.

Cape West Coast National Park

Set against the stunning backdrop of the azure lagoon, white dunes, rare fynbos, lush wetlands, and crashing waves, the West Coast National Park offers a wealth of experiences. It’s a haven for hikers, cyclists, mountain bikers, bird watchers, and nature enthusiasts.

The park is home to over 250 bird species annually, representing more than a quarter of South Africa’s total. Take time to relax at one of the bird hides, enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Visit Kraalbaai on the Langebaan Lagoon, or explore the tide pools at Tsaarsbank along the shore.

Day 8 | Greater Kruger National Park

Today, you will travel to the Greater Kruger National Park. After transferring back to Cape Town, you’ll fly to Skukuza Airport, then proceed to Nottens Bush Camp. Check in and enjoy a relaxing evening by the fire, preparing for your upcoming safaris.

Greater Kruger National Park

As you bump along the park roads, the sun warm upon your face and air dry in the back of your throat, your senses are on high alert. This is the real Africa, cut away from the hectic pace of life, home to Africa’s Big 5. The Kruger is alive, from the nervously twitching herd of impala after a night of predator action, to the wild dog cavorting like domestic pets alongside the road. Marvel as a herd of elephant simply appear from out the bush, then silently vanish back into the landscape. With over 2 million hectares of pristine wilderness, the Kruger’s biodiversity sustains numerous species of game and birds. The dry north consists of Baobab trees, scrubland and rocky outcroppings which can be seen for miles and animals tend to gather around water sources. As you come south, the park gets busier, animal numbers increase and the backdrop changes to grassland and acacia woodlands. On the western borders, private reserves such as Sabi Sands and the Timbavati open onto the Kruger, offering an exclusive game experience with the flexibility of night drives and off-road 4 x 4 safaris. Swaying to the movement of an open vehicle while wrapped warmly against the night chills, is an unforgettable experience. The call of a Nightjar darting overhead and the flash of eyes reflected from the bushes brings an entirely different twist to your safari and as you drop your head back and look up – the crisp night skies go on forever.

Day 9 – 11 | Greater Kruger National Park

Over the next three days, enjoy morning and evening game drives, soaking in the breathtaking scenery of the park and having the opportunity to spot Africa’s Big 5. Take some time to embark on a bush walk or two. In the evenings, return to camp to unwind by the fire.

Southern Sabi Sands

The Sabi Sands is a private 65,000-hectare reserve in the Greater Kruger National Park,  known as one of the few places that you can see the Big 5 in one day. It has a diverse habitat with the Sand and Sabi Rivers running through it, a huge range of wildlife and a reputation for big cat sightings. Head out for an early morning game drive in open vehicles, stopping for a refreshing coffee break and a chance to listen to the sounds of the bush whilst admiring the landscape. After some down-time and a siesta back at camp, set off again in the late afternoon when the bush comes alive. Sundowners as night falls, then spotlights come out in search of a new range of creatures. For those needing to expend some energy, a guided walking safari is an ideal way to learn about smaller animals and plants.
