Overview:

Prepare for an 11-day adventure in Tanzania! Discover the vast Lake Manyara National Park, home to the world’s largest concentration of baboons, and marvel at the stunning flamingos along the lake’s edge. Enjoy a full day of game driving in the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. Then, journey to the Serengeti, a true wildlife wonderland. See game such as buffalo, zebra, giraffes, and more. Unwind on the shores of Zanzibar. Immerse yourself in the city’s rich culture and history and savor the distinctive local spices.

Brief Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive in Arusha, Tanzania. Check in to Mount Meru Game Lodge for 1 night.

Day 02: Lake Manyara National Park game drive. Check in to Bougainvillea Safari Lodge for 2 nights.

Day 03: Full day game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 04: Drive to Central Serengeti with a game drive en route to Kati Kati Tented Camp for 1 night.

Day 05: Drive Northern Serengeti with a game drive. Check in to Mara River Kati Kati for 3 nights.

Day 06 & 07: On safari in Northern Serengeti.

Day 08 : Fly to Zanzibar. Transfer to the Sea Cliff Resort, Zanzibar for 3 nights.

Day 09: AM Jozani Forest Tour and PM Stone Town & Spice Tour.

Day 10: Day at Leisure.

Day 11: Private transfer to the Zanzibar Airport & fly to Nairobi.

TANZANIA SAFARI WITH ZANZIBAR

June 30 – July 10, 2025

Day-by-day Itinerary:

Day 1 – Arusha, Tanzania

Arrive to Kilimanjaro International Airport, in Arusha Tanzania. Meet with your private transfer and drive to Mount Meru Game Lodge for 1 night.

Day 2 – Lake Manvara National Park

After breakfast, check out of Mount Meru and meet your private guide and depart with boxed lunches to Lake Manyara National Park. Enjoy a game drive and lunch in the park. Later that afternoon transfer to Karatu region. Check in to Bougainvillea Safari Lodge for 2 nights. Enjoy the evening on your own.

Day 3 – Nogorongoro Crater

After breakfast, depart with private guide with a packed lunch to Nogorongoro conservation area. On clearing the paperwork you will ascend up to the crater rim, from where you will have the opportunity – weather permitting – to see the crater, in all its glory. From here drive around the rim and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater itself for a full day game drive.

After your game drive, you will depart from the crater floor and make your way towards your lodge. Enjoy dinner and your overnight at Bougainvillea Safari Lodge.

Day 4 – Central Serengeti

After breakfast meet your private guide with a packed lunch to drive through the central Serengeti, en route to your next camp. Check in to Kati Kati Mobile Tented Camp for 1 night. Enjoy dinner at camp.

Day 5 – Northern Serengeti

After breakfast depart in your private vehicle with a packed lunch and drive to Northern Serengeti with a game drive en route. After game drive check in to Mara Kati Kati for 3 nights.

Day 6 & 7 – Northern Serengeti

Enjoy two full days of safari in the northern Serengeti. Enjoy your final evening at Marra Kati Kati with drinks by the campfire, the perfect way to discuss the past several days adventures.

Northern Serengeti

Located between the Central Serengeti and Kenya’s Masai Mara, the Northern Serengeti is a remote wildlife haven known for its role in the Great Migration. This region features rolling savannahs, acacia trees, and riverine woodlands. Visitors can witness the migration of half a million wildebeest along the Mara River and spot a variety of wildlife including buffalo, zebra, gazelles, giraffe, lion, and leopard. Activities include bird watching, hot air ballooning, game safaris, and guided bush walks.

Day 8 – Zanzibar

After breakfast, depart with your guide in your private vehicle with a ‘packed lunch’ to the Kogatende Airstrip, Serengeti. Bid farewell to your guide who will drive back to Arusha. Fly to Arusha (1 hour 55 min)  and then on to Zanzibar (1.5 hours).

On arrival in Zanzibar, collect your luggage and make your way to the arrivals hall. You will be met by a representee and privately transferred to the Sea Cliff Resort. Check in to Sea Cliff Resort for 3 nights.

Day 9 – Zanzibar

After breakfast, meet your guide for full day tour depart taking in Jozani Forest (looking for Red Colobus Monkeys), explore Stone Town for a City Tour and lunch (on own account) followed by an afternoon Spice Tour. You will be returned to Sea Cliff Resort & Spa for your dinner (included) and overnight on a Half Board basis.

Jozani Forest Tour

Located in Zanzibar, Tanzania, Jozani Forest Tour offers visitors a spectacular tour through Jozani Forest. The forest is home to a number of endemic species, including the Zanzibar Red Colobus Monkey, leopards, reptiles, and birds. A knowledgeable park guide accompanies visitors along a nature trail lined with eucalyptus and mahogany trees. Visitors will learn about the animals and the medicinal properties of various plants in the forest. Troops of Zanzibar Red Colobus monkeys can be found scrambling from branch to branch in search of food. They have become acclimatized to people and visitors are able to get close enough to take spectacular photos. Also, visitors will be taken along the mangrove boardwalk to spot a variety of tropical fish and learn about the important role of mangroves for local villagers and communities.

Stone Town City Tour

Stone Town City Tour offers visitors a tour following the trail of the sultans, slaves and explorers in the winding streets of Stone Town in Tanzania. Visitors will learn about events which shaped Zanzibar via a knowledgeable guide while walking through the buildings where it all happened. These historic buildings include the former Slave Market, the Anglican Cathedral, the House of Wonders, the Sultans’ Palace Museum, and the Old Arab Fort and Dispensary. Visitors have the opportunity to explore the markets, and the residential areas. An optional stop is available to rest from the heat at The Zanzibar Coffee House, where visitors can enjoy a selection of drinks, local sweets and seasonal fruits. The tour is flexible and can be adapted according to visitors’ interests and time frame. Visitors can also shop for antiques and souvenirs.

Spice Tour

Located in Zanzibar, Tanzania, Spice Tour offers visitors a unique experience. Zanzibar was known as a spice island, exporting a variety of spices across the world which were brought over from Asia and South America, but today the plantations are a tribute to the island’s past. A knowledgeable guide takes visitors through the spice farm where they can feel, smell and taste different spices and tropical fruit. These spices and fruit include vanilla, cardamom, cinnamon, and many others. Next, visitors can shop for spices at a local market and partake in a Swahili cookery lesson from skilled chefs.

Day 10 – Zanzibar

Enjoy the day on your own. Book a boat trip from Sea Cliff (to be booked on your own at check in, not included), relax at the Sea Cliff Resort or make use of the shuttle bus to Stone Town for lunch or touring on your own.

Day 11 – Travel Day

After breakfast and a morning at leisure, check out at 11am, store  your luggage at Reception, enjoy lunch on own and early afternoon, meet driver in the lobby for your private transfer (approx. 1 hour) to the Zanzibar Airport.

On arrival at the Nairobi Airport, clear customs & immigration, collect your luggage and check in for your international flights.

General Information:

– Medical Evacuation insurance is mandatory for travel with Africa Easy and proof of purchase is required. Africa Easy also strongly recommends purchasing a policy that includes trip cancellation/ interruption coverage.

– Passports must be valid for a minimum of 6 months remaining upon arrival for U.S. citizens traveling to Tanzania. 1 blank page per entry is required.

– Visas are required for U.S. Citizens visiting Tanzania. Visitors are strongly encouraged to obtain visas by using the online system (https://eservices.immigration.go.tz/visa/) prior to travel in order to save time on arrival. Please use above link to be sure you are directed to the official government website and not a scam website. Please note: The visa application will be processed within 10 days. Application for your visa can be made up to 6 months prior to the date of arrival in Tanzania.

If you wish to obtain a visa on arrival, please do note this can take up to two hours to complete the visa process. Please do be sure to bring the correct amount of USD cash with bills that are in good condition and of a newer issue date (must have large presidential picture on bill)

While still part of Tanzania, Zanzibar is administered autonomously and they do have their own immigration procedures so you will be asked to show your passport on entry & exit. You will not need to purchase a separate visa for Zanzibar.
