Overview:

This 17-day itinerary offers an unforgettable journey through Zambia’s wild and stunning landscapes. It begins with a warm welcome in Lusaka, where you’ll stay at The Latitude Hotel for a night and enjoy a “Welcome Dinner.” The adventure truly kicks off on Day 2 as you transfer to Bilimungwe in South Luangwa for a 3-night safari experience. You’ll then explore the abundant wildlife of South Luangwa for a few more days at Tena Tena Camp. Afterward, it’s off to Lower Zambezi’s Chiawa Camp for more thrilling game drives, walks, and boat trips. Your journey continues with a stay at Anabezi for additional safari experiences. A flight takes you to the remote Shumba Lodge in Busanga Plains for 3 nights of exclusive wildlife encounters. Finally, on Day 17, you’ll bid farewell to Zambia and head home via Lusaka, marking the end of an extraordinary African adventure.

Day-by-day Itinerary:

Day 01 – Monday, August 26, 2024 – Arrive to Lusaka, Zambia

Welcome to Zambia!

You will be privately met on arrival, after clearing Customs and Immigration and claiming your checked luggage (with a rep holding a sign with your name on it) and transfer approx. 40-50 minutes to The Latitude Hotel for 1 night on a Bed & Breakfast basis.

‘Welcome Dinner’ at 1830 in the restaurant at The Latitude hotel. Lunch on own.

Day 02 – Tuesday, August 27, 2024 – Transfer to Bilimungwe, South Luangwa

After breakfast, transfer by road from The Latitude Hotel to the Lusaka Airport for scheduled flight from Lusaka to Mfuwe ETD 1030am and ETA 1140am. Flight times are approx. You will be met on arrival and transferred to Bilimungwe in South Luangwa for a 3 night stay on a fully inclusive stay.

Day 03 – 04 – Wednesday – Thursday, August 28 – 29, 2024- Full days on safari at Bilimungwe, South Luangwa

Enjoy daily game viewing for 3 nights and 2 full days.

Day 05 – Friday, August 30, 2024 – Transfer by road from Bilimungwe to Tena Tena Camp, South Luangwa

Check in for a 3 night stay at Tena Tena Camp.

Day 06 – 07 – Saturday – Sunday, August 31 – September 01, 2024 – On Safari at Tena Tena Camp, South Luangwa

Enjoy daily game viewing for 2 full days and 3 nights.

Day 08 – Monday, September 02, 2024 – Fly from Mfuwe, South Luangwa to Jeki, Lower Zambezi

Transfer after an early morning activity and breakfast to Mfuwe Airstrip and fly Scheduled Flight from Mufwe to Jeki Airstrip ETD 1040am and ETA 1210am. On arrival, transfer to Chiawa Camp. Check in for a 3 night stay.

Day 09 – 10 – Tuesday – Wednesday, September 03 – 04, 2024 – On Safari at Chiawa Camp, Lower Zambezi

Enjoy 3 nights and 2 full days on Safari at Chiawa Camp, Lower Zambezi

Day 11 – Thursday, September 05, 2024 – Transfer by road from Chiawa to Anabezi, Lower Zambezi

Transfer by road from Chiawa to Anabezi, Lower Zambezi. Check in for 3 nights.

Day 12 – 13 – Friday – Saturday, September 06 – 07, 2024 On safari in the Lower Zambezi

On Safari enjoying daily game drives, walks, boat trips from ANABEZI, Lower Zambezi

Day 14 – Sunday, September 08, 2024 – Fly Jeki Airstrip via Lusaka to Busanga Airstrip, Kafue NP and transfer to Shumba Lodge

Transfer by road to Jeki Airstrip for a scheduled flight via Lusaka to Kafue on Wilderness Air. Check in on arrival at Shumba Lodge for a 3nt stay

Day 15 – 16 – Monday – Tuesday, September 09 – 10, 2024 – On Safari from Rhumba Camp
Enjoy 3 nights and 2 full days on Safari.

Remote and exclusive, Shumba occupies its own little island in the midst of the Busanga Plains, overlooking miles of floodplains threaded with channels. There are just six luxury suites here, built on raised wooden platforms to observe the wilderness from every angle. Marvel at the Plains’ lion dynamics, relax in your spacious tented suite and later, dine sumptuously under the stars.
Shumba opens for just five months each year, making this seasonal camp one of the most exclusive safari destinations in Africa. Expect front-row seats to dramatic and thrilling wildlife encounters.

Day 17 – Wednesday, September 11, 2024 – Fly to Lusaka. Depart for home.

Check out of Shumba and transfer to the airstrip for Wilderness Air flight to Lusaka. Depart this evening on scheduled Air on Qatar Airways to Doha (or other International Airline) and on to final destination.

Currently Nadia divides her time among her home in Seattle, her family in South Africa and is well versed in many adventure destinations, including Central and South America, Indonesia, Africa, Antarctica Africa, and leading expeditions throughout the world for Africa Easy/Expedition Easy as well as for other leading US Tour Operators.
